Make-Ahead Cranberry Sauce

The combination of orange juice, fresh cranberries, cinnamon and sugars create delicious flavors, and your house will smell amazing! Who needs a fall candle when you can make homemade cranberry sauce?!

It is so easy to make and it looks just beautiful. It can be made days in advance and stores well. There is such a difference between homemade cranberry sauce and the canned stuff, and once you make this you will never go back.

Slow Cooked Sweet Potatoes

These are the perfect side on a cold day! While they are cooking, the house smells amazing.
Slow Cooked Sweet Potatoes ~ The Dreams Weaver
What you will need
6 to 7 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1 ½ tbsp cornstarch or flour
4 tbsp canola oil or butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup orange juice
¼ cup water
Pinch of kosher salt

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350° if preparing in the oven.

Toss the sweet potatoes with the cornstarch in a bowl to coat well. Add the mixture to a ceramic baking dish, or slow cooker and dot with the butter or oil.

Sprinkle over the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Pour in the vanilla, orange juice and water. Season with salt. If cooking in the oven, cover the ceramic dish with foil tightly and cook in the oven for about 1-1.5 hours. If slow cooking, place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low, stirring once or twice, until the potatoes are tender, about 3 hours.

What I Wore Wednesday

It feels really strange to have a post centered around me.  When it comes to my blog posts, I like being behind the camera and letting my DIYing take center stage.  However, my outfit yesterday I am completely in love with!  I was wearing some of my new favorite finds mixed with some oldies.

…It all started with my designer collection obsession from Target.  I have gotten at least one piece of each limited edition collection Target has released since the first one of Proenza Schouler back in 2007.  You can imagine how much I have spent since then with over a dozen collections launched!

The last collection that launched was 3.1 Phillip Lim this past September.  His collection had bright graphics, and of course my favorite, ANIMAL PRINT!

A few other items I scored from past collections:

Fast forward to the other week, who can forget Turkey Day?  My body is still recuperating from all that food!  I went back home to New York for Thanksgiving, and did the Moonlight shopping at Tanger Outlets (our new tradition!) and scored this AMAZING cobalt blue bag at Kate Spade, 60% off outlet prices- WIN!  Along with a matching wallet, iPad mini case, and2 bracelets.  And that was all just Kate Spade.

I really love shopping, can’t you tell?  And I love getting it all on sale, who pays full retail anymore?

So I paired my animal print skirt and Kate Spade bag with a simple turtleneck I have had forever from the GAP and blue flats from UO.  It was a miracle that they were all the same hue of blue!
